There are a variety of procedures available for a full mouth reconstruction. Exceptional Dentistry will go over the options that will benefit you and your full mouth reconstruction goals. We always make your oral health a top priority. Cosmetic treatments will be delayed if your teeth, gums, or bone tissue are unhealthy at the onset. All oral health issues will be addressed before we begin any aesthetic treatments.

• Periodontal Care- If gum disease is found during our initial exam, this would need to be treated first. Our recommendation will be to perform a deep cleaning, including scaling and root planing, or possibly a laser treatment. The plaque and tartar must be removed from the teeth under the gumline to completely eliminate the source of the gum infection. We might also consider gum contouring as part of your aesthetic reconstruction if deemed beneficial.
• Dental Crowns- Crowns, acting much like a cap, can be placed on a tooth to improve your smile. If a tooth has a large dental filling that will no longer withstand the biting pressures without the possibility of cracking, then a crown will be recommended by Exceptional Dentistry. A crown can also be used to restore the look of any damaged tooth.
• Root Canal Therapy- A cavity is usually the result of not brushing or flossing your teeth properly which promotes an infection that then develops inside a tooth’s pulp. The infection can also be caused by a crack or if there is any other damage to the tooth that has allowed bacteria to enter the tooth. A root canal treatment removes the infected pulp, and then a crown is usually added for protection. This is still the best way to keep a natural tooth and ensure your smile also remains natural.
• Bone Or Gum Grafting- A bone graft might be necessary if you have had a tooth missing for a while, and your jawbone has atrophied. Bone grafting is beneficial if you are interested in replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant. A dental implant will need enough jawbone mass to fuse properly to successfully provide the desired support and stability.
• Dental Implants- A dental implant is the gold standard for tooth replacement today. It is the only option available that permanently replaces a missing tooth. A tiny titanium post will be surgically placed into your jawbone, which will function as an artificial tooth root. Then an extension or abutment is added to the post to reach the surface of the gumline and then finally a dental crown will be affixed to the extension. This provides the function and appearance of a natural tooth, and it will also preserve the jawbone density and integrity.
• Orthodontics- Braces are used to correct misaligned teeth. While innovative options for braces have been introduced, metal brackets and wires remain a common and successful option. Invisalign is now a popular option by providing a corrective method with translucent plastic trays. There are many health benefits for straightening your teeth beyond cosmetics. Realigning your teeth can eliminate a traumatic bite, muscle pain, or jawbone deterioration.
